Tutor

What you’ll do:

• Embody and adopt Per Scholas core values of Ambition, Integrity, Professionalism, Resourcefulness, Perseverance, and Commitment to Service.

• Support and tutor learners through their immersive learning journey or Alumni in their Upskilling courses.

• Hold a group tutoring session at least once a week for a group of up to 4 learners or alumni learners
• Attend alumni volunteers’ general assembly once a month

• Provide job preparation, time management, and professional development coaching based on your level of experience

• Leverage mentees’ current abilities to promote positive study skills

• Log volunteer hours and meetings, as well as attendance for each session.

Required Experience:

• Graduated Per Scholas with an 85% GPA or higher

• Graduated or recertified in the certification or course you plan to tutor within 1 year of current tutor year

• Have a certification or graduated  in the course you are looking to tutor for

• Proficient time management and communication skills

• Availability to tutor once per week for 2, 6  or 12 month time frame, or able to do an exam prep session

Preferred Experience

• IT Placement for at least 6 months

• Passed all required examinations for certifications

• Work experience in the field that you plan to tutor in

• Track record of using the information from the course material in the last 2 years

• Interpersonal relationship building skills
