Cybersecurity & AI Outline-UCI 3096

This 3-week course is designed to equip learners with the applied skills to investigate, mitigate, and respond to modern identity-centric threats such as infostealers.

Join Priority list Instructor-Led

This intermediate course is designed for early-career cybersecurity professionals who have completed CompTIA CySA+ (or equivalent) and want to expand into AI-augmented identity threat detection and incident response. Learners will explore real-world campaigns, practice evidence-driven risk assessment, apply GenAI for incident response, and design automated remediation strategies. Through interactive labs, learners will gain hands-on experience with identity compromise analysis, MITRE ATT&CK-based detection and mitigation, endpoint IR scripting, and GenAI-assisted reporting.

Through an array of interactive labs, captivating lectures, and collaborative projects, individuals will build evidence-based playbooks, prototype remediation tools, and deliver a professional incident response plan and training video as part of a capstone project.

Upon successful course completion, graduates will be well-prepared to leverage AI-augmented incident response in their current roles while also having set the groundwork should they wish to pursue advanced training in threat hunting, security automation, or adversarial AI.

What you’ll learn:

  • Assess risk severity of compromised identities, systems, and services using evidence‑first methods.
  • Gather/apply threat intelligence to identity‑centric compromises; convert to ATT&CK‑mapped detections & hunts.
  • Apply GenAI to augment the cybersecurity analyst across prompting, checking, and automating IR tasks.
  • Design GenAI‑assisted IR reports with transparent evidence linkage and critique loops.
  • Build self‑service remediations/mitigations: credential rotation, token/cookie revocation, 3rd‑party app off‑boarding.
  • Practice security teamwork to produce a professional, end‑to‑end identity‑threat IR plan and an awareness training video.
