Alumni Peer Mentor
The success of Per Scholas learners and alumni learners is crucial for the advancement and improvement of the IT field and Per Scholas as a company. We are looking for a volunteer that is a committed, relationship-builder to provide empowerment, encouragement and real world advice to Per Scholas Alumni. This individual will have real IT experience to help navigate the Alumni through their job search process.

What you’ll do:
- Embody and adopt Per Scholas core values of Ambition, Integrity, Professionalism, Resourcefulness, Perseverance, and Commitment to Service.
- Support Alumni that have recently graduated from a Per Scholas course and is looking to obtain their first IT placement
- Use active listening to encourage Alumni to be the experts of their own lives, pointing out talents, strengths and PD based on your level of experience
- Hold a one on one meeting with mentees at the agreed upon meeting cadence
- Attend regular check ins and professional development courses with PS Alumni Engagement Team
- Provide job preparation, time management, and professional development coaching based on your level of experience
- Leverage mentees current abilities to promote consistent goal attainment and progress
- Log volunteer hours and meetings, as well as attendance for each session.
Required Experience:
- Graduated from Per Scholas
- Passed all required examinations for certifications
- Had an IT placement for at least 6 months or more
- Proficient interpersonal and communication skills
- Availability to commit to 6-12 month time frame for mentorship
Preferred Experience
- IT Placement for at least 1 year
- Mentorship experience
- Boundary and goal setting skills
