SAP Backend Developer Associate- UCI 3092

This course is designed for aspiring SAP developers who have programming experience and want to specialize in back-end development on SAP BTP. After successful completion, graduates can jumpstart their careers as SAP Backend Developers and ABAP Cloud Developers.

This 12-week course equips aspiring SAP backend developers to build data-driven ABAP Cloud apps, deliver RAP-based REST services with Fiori UIs, and extend S/4HANA capabilities with SAP’s Cloud Application Programming model.  This intermediate course is designed for aspiring SAP developers who have programming knowledge and want to specialize in back-end development on SAP BTP. Through an array of interactive labs, captivating lectures, and collaborative projects, individuals will design simple RESTful services, extend SAP applications safely, and deploy cloud-ready solutions that integrate data, analytics, and AI capabilities. As part of the course, learners will prepare and test for the SAP Backend Developer Associate certification exam. Upon successful course completion, learners will be equipped to pursue a range of roles, such as SAP Backend Developer or ABAP Cloud Developer.

 

Course Goals
Upon successful completion of all course requirements, learners will

  • Describe SAP Business Technology Platform’s purpose, core services, and multicloud deployment options, along with their role in integration, automation, data, and AI scenarios.
  • Develop ABAP Cloud programs that retrieve and manipulate data using basic syntax, variables, internal tables, and ABAP SQL/CDS in ADT.
  • Design RESTful services and SAP Fiori user interfaces with RAP and Fiori elements to present business data clearly.
  • Extend SAP S/4HANA functionality through key-user tools and entry-level CAP side-by-side projects while maintaining a clean, upgrade-safe core.
  • Implement fundamental security, testing, and deployment practices to package and run ABAP and CAP developments reliably in SAP BTP Cloud Foundry.

Prerequisites

To be considered for this course, learners are required to meet the minimal qualifications for a Per Scholas course. It is expected that the learner will have technical knowledge through education, as a Per Scholas Alumnus, prior to entering the program.

It is preferred for learners to have 1-3 years of software development experience.
